PermaCrete set a new surface impact standard when it successfully passed the EIMA 101.86 Ultra High category of 160 in/lb while incorporating its lightweight 4.5 oz PermaMesh for additional flexibility. No other recognized surface coating product has ever achieved this level of impact resistance without the use of a much thicker and costly mesh placement.

| Q: |
Do I need to RASP an ICF block surface prior to applying PermaCrete? |
| A: |
Yes. Rasping the block surface is important as surface dust created by the block’s UV exposure can affect PermaCrete adhesion. When rasping the block surface, do no use traditional Stucco rasp as it’s too coarse and can apply excess abrasion to the surface. The use of 60 grit sandpaper on a drywall sanding pole, or a Smoothie Rasp, prove efficient. |
|
| Q: |
Can I use PermaCrete’s FiberMesh below grade on my ICF building? |
| A: |
No. Using FiberMesh below grade can result in water wicking up into the mesh from the earth. FiberMesh in the above ground application should stop at least 6” above the ground’s surface. However, PermaCrete without mesh may be used below grade to create a consistent transition with the wall surface. |
|
| Q: | If I use one of the 30 pre-colored Matrix Mixes, do I need to use PermaSeal Stain Sealer, or can I just use PermaSeal Clear Sealer? |
| A: |
The pre-colored Matrix will insure color consistency throughout the application. However, for consistent surface color matching, the corresponding PermaSeal Stain Sealer should be used to seal the surface. |
