The Driving Force Behind PermaCrete.

We've all heard the axiom - When the going gets tough, the tough get going. That certainly applies to the President/CEO of Quality Systems, Inc., George A. Henderson. And while Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote a book on the subject, Henderson has made self-reliance a way of life.

Raised and educated near Chicago, Henderson began a truly entrepreneurial career thirty-five years ago and it's continued through four separate and very successful entrepreneurial start-up companies. As president and founder of Tennessee's Maytag distributorship; president and founder National Car Wash Systems, a pioneer in America's self-service car wash industry; and again as president and founder of Professional Marketing Corporation, a pioneering telecommunications entity in the 1980's, Henderson has always set a fierce pace for competitors and those around him. However, in the early 1990's he was finally stumped. And it took a concrete pool deck to do it. But not for long.

When George Henderson one day walked around his pool deck at his residence and did not like what he saw, apparently another light bulb went off. The surface was cracked and crumbling, a situation unacceptable to Henderson's exacting standards. A tough problem? Yes. So Henderson researched, only to find the available solutions were not acceptable. Then began his meticulous journey of further research to develop a product worthy of the task of resurfacing the nation's countless expanses of worn and deteriorating concrete and, of course, Henderson's own pool deck.

The result was PermaCrete, uniquely crafted as a non-porous, acrylic polymer cement compound offering unusual strength, flexibility, and lasting beauty. After months of extensive test applications with successful results in a wide variety of circumstances and under his exacting requirements, Henderson knew in mid-1990 that the vast market for concrete resurfacing was ready for his line of products. In that year, he founded Quality Systems, Inc., in Nashville, Tennessee, where he has lived for many years. Within a short span of time, the success of PermaCrete worldwide required larger, more state-of-the-art capabilities, hence the relocation in early 2003 to the corporation's present facility at 1101 Menzler Road to meet the growing needs of over 1,000 Dealers nationwide and abroad.
